Express Entry

The express entry system is a part of the economic immigration category and is a way to obtain permanent residence status in Canada. This includes the following programs;

-Canadian Experience Class: Requires 1/3 previous years work experience in Canada in a NOC O,A, or B occupation.

-Federal Skill Worker: Requires 1/10 previous years work experience in any country in a NOC O,A, or B occupation.

-Federal Skill Trade: 2/5 previous years work experience in any country in a NOC B trade occupation.

Work Permits

Work permits offer temporary resident status to Canada with which applicants are authorized to work in the country. This can be a great way to gain Canadian work experience to help applicants find a pathway to PR in the future. There are many different types of work permits each with their own rules, restrictions, and eligibility criteria. 

-Open Work Permit: These work permits allow applicants to work for any employer with few restrictions and can be granted for a number of reasons to people with certain types of status in Canada.

-LMIA-Based Work permit: These Work permits are employer specific and the applicant must first receive a valid job offer from an LMIA positive employer to apply for this type of work permit.

-Post-Graduation Work Permit: Granted to students in Canada following their education in Canada to gain Canadian work experience.

Study Permit

A study permit allows a foreign national to come to Canada on temporary resident status for the purpose of pursuing a Canadian education. In most situations a foreign national will need a study permit to study in Canada with the exception of certain situations. In order to apply for a study permit the applicant will in most cases require a letter of acceptance.

Sponsorship

Sponsorships allow the applicant to obtain permanent residence status in Canada. This process requires a Canadian PR or citizen to sponsor an applicant abroad to come to Canada. The most common types of sponsorships are for spouses, and parents. This requires the sponsor to commit to providing care and taking responsibility for an applicant for a given time after they come to Canada. 

Visitor Visas

Visitor visas grant applicants a timed stay in Canada. These stays can be for a number of reasons like family visit, tourism, attend a specific event, etc. The 3 primary types of visitor visas are as follows;

-Multi Entry Visa: Allows multiple entries into Canada and is valid for 10yrs or until passport expiry.

-Single Entry Visa: Can entry county one time for a limited period usually for a specific event.

-Super Visa: For parents/grandparents, valid for 10 years and allows initial stay of 2 years. This visa allows multiple entries over the 10 year period.

Provincial Nominee Programs

These programs are opened up by the provinces individually in order to fill or meet provincial needs. These programs provide mainly PR opportunities. In order to learn more about open provincial programs contact us to see if you qualify for a program.
